Parking & Vehicle Regulations

May 15th to September 15th
On May 15th, the “NO PARKING 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM FROM MAY 15TH TO SEPTEMBER 15TH” restrictions will be reinstated. In addition to local Code Enforcement, the Nassau County Police Department has been notified to strictly enforce ALL parking restrictions.

Ocean Boulevard and the beach ends are not waived at any time. All other regulations will be waived as follows:

  • Father’s Day
  • Memorial Day
  • July 4th
  • Labor Day

May to October Street Sweeping Schedule

Street sweeping will take place on Tuesdays from May to October.

Schedule as follows:

1st Tuesday of the month- West side- Atlantic, Pacific, Bay Blvd and cross streets.
2nd Tuesday of the month- East side-Ocean to Park, cross streets
3rd Tuesday of the month- North side of Park to bay, cross streets
4th Tuesday of the month- Ocean Blvd, beach ends

Special Guest Parking - May 15th thru September 15th

Special guest parking permits effective from May 15 thru September 15th. Requests by residents are limited to 3 days only with a maximum of 30 permits for each occasion, Otherwise, residents are encouraged to have their guests park in the non-regulated parking spaces on Ocean Boulevard.

Please call the office Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM to 3:45 PM, or email the request to [email protected] for a special parking permit. Passes in excess of 10, must be sent 2 weeks prior.

September 16th to May 14th Parking Regulations
September 16, 2026, the “NO PARKING 10:00 AM TO 5:00 PM” restrictions will be lifted. Some streets in the village have no parking throughout the year. If you are having a party and wish to have guests park call the village office Monday-Friday from 8:00 AM to 3:45 PM or email the request to [email protected] for a special parking permit.

Year-Round Permit/Sticker Parking - Ocean Boulevard
Sticker parking is in effect year-round, January thru December. Stickers can be purchased Monday-Friday from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Village Hall.

48 Hour Parking Regulation
No person shall park any vehicle on any public or private road within the corporate limits of the Village of Atlantic Beach for more than 48 hours regardless of any parking regulations.

Vehicles to be Parked on Paved Driveway Only
No vehicles shall be permitted to be parked, kept or stored on any residential property Unless such vehicle is on a paved driveway. All driveways shall be accessible from a legal village street only. At no time shall any vehicle be permitted to be parked in the rear yard, lawns, or patios in any residential area.

Commercial Vehicles, Trucks, Vans, Trailers, or Campers
Commercial vehicles, trucks, vans, trailers or campers are not allowed to be parked on any public Highway, private roads, private driveway or private property in the limits of the incorporated Village of Atlantic Beach. It is in violation of Local Law and punishable by a fine not to exceed $500 per day and will be strictly enforced by the Village and Nassau County Police Department.

Commercial vehicles cannot be parked in the Village unless they are delivering goods or providing a service—especially overnight, even on private property.

Inoperative or Unlicensed Motor Vehicles
Not more than one (1) inoperative or unlicensed motor vehicle shall be parked, kept or stored on any premises, and no vehicle shall at any time be in a state of major disassembly, disrepair, or in the process of being stripped or dismantled.

Cars Blocking Sidewalk
It shall not be permissible for any such vehicle parked in a driveway to extend into the sidewalk and public street.

Speed Limit
The speed limit in Atlantic Beach is 15 MPH, with the exception of Park Street, which is 25 MPH. For the safety of all, speed limit, street directional signs are a must to follow.

Winter Street Parking and Snow Removal
Please remove your cars from the street when snowfall is predicted so as not to hinder snowplowing public operations by our public works crew.
