The Village Carden
The Village Garden is a demonstration/learning garden where residents of all ages and abilities are invited to volunteer, share skills, and grow organic pesticide-free herbs, vegetables, and flowering plants.
The garden donates most of its harvested crops to local soup kitchens and food pantries, with the remaining vegetables used for garden classes, community endeavors, and special events. Any small surplus beyond those purposes gets distributed to the volunteers.
It’s a year-round endeavor. Volunteers start all the vegetables, herbs, and flowers from seeds in the winter through early spring under grow lights in Village Hall. As soon as one growing season ends in November, garden volunteers begin preparations for the next one.
Remember to check the Village website and emails for announcements on this season’s events and opportunities.
